Welcome Alice, our new Climate Equity Coordinator

Oct 18, 2023 | Embark News, Team

Hi everyone, my name is Alice (she/her), and I am Embark’s Climate Equity Programs Coordinator for the fall and spring semesters! I look forward to working with a fantastic group of volunteers to create events to support SFU students interested in climate hope and sustainability.

I am in my fourth year of Resource Environmental Management with a minor in Sustainability and Development. As a REM major, I have found my passion for local and international sustainable forestry and love learning about the decarbonization of energy and transportation sectors.

I first dove into Climate Equity when I started working on campaigns to end unjust labour practices connected to lithium extraction in Africa and South America. I firmly believe we cannot address climate change and create sustainable communities without equity and justice for everyone. I also greatly enjoy learning how to improve climate equity in the Amazonian Rainforest while supporting cultural and ecological conservation.

When I am not at Embark or school, you can find me hanging with my dog Troy, taking care of my house plants, making trip itineraries, and trying new cafes or brunch spots!
