Hi everyone! My name is Maryam, and I am thrilled to join the Embark team as the new Digital Engagement Coordinator. I’m a fifth year Communication major at SFU and I am excited for the opportunity to combine my passion for digital engagement with my desire to create a more sustainable future for everyone. It’s important to incorporate sustainable practices in all aspects of life, and I hope to learn new ways of living sustainably as I continue my lifelong journey of doing my part to preserve our earth.

I look forward to working with the Design & Communications Manager and the rest of the Embark team to create content that is focused on sustainable initiatives through a decolonial and socially just lens.

In my free time I like to explore Vancouver and find new cafés to try. On sunny weekends you can find me hiking and enjoying the natural beauty of BC. I also love watching television (who doesn’t), so I’m always open to TV show suggestions!
