Veggie Lunch at SFU: Affordable 3-course vegan meal on campus!

Nov 9, 2017 | Uncategorized

Veggie Lunch is a great way to keep your momentum from Monday Veggie Challenge rolling forward all week. Affordably priced at $6 ($6.5 takeout), you’ll get a hot main dish, salad or vegetable side, a drink, and a two-part dessert. Lunch is served every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the Maggie Benson Forum Chambers from 11:30am-2:30 pm.

Their menu is constantly rotating on a 4-week schedule, meaning you can come multiple days a week and never get the same meal two days, even weeks, in a row! Each day’s menu can be found posted on their Facebook page. From curries to vegan mac-and-cheese, the dishes are beloved by all the students I’ve talked to. The food is always filling and is a great way to feel good about getting your vegetable intake.

Lunch-goers are encouraged to bring their own plates or re-usable containers and cutlery. Otherwise, meals are served on compostable plates with plastic cutlery.

Operated by Kalarupini Koraljka Roy and the Gaura Hari Karma-Free Meals Society since 2012, all proceeds fund services in the downtown eastside. Veggie Lunch is supported by Kritan Vancouver, a non-profit organization focused on bringing people together through the yoga of sound.

Check Veggie Lunch out for yourself this week to experience tasty, affordable, filling vegan food on campus! Bring your own container and utensil to further reduce your impact!
