Preserve the nourishing qualities of plant life! We’ll be getting familiar with need-to-know medicinal plants like calendula, reducing our reliance on big-box skincare by learning to safely make balms and salves with minimal supplies, and reflecting on the energy shared by all living things 🌱

Event Accessibility
Embark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark Sustainability members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Embark Sustainability Associate Members. This event will be held outdoors in the SUB Learning Garden, located on the third floor of the Student Union Building, on the back side of the main entrance.
Accessibility details include:
- This space is wheelchair accessible and shaded from the sun.
- We cannot provide ASL interpretation at this time.
- We will be using ingredients such as calendula flower, shea butter, and olive oil in the balm making process. Please be mindful of exposure risk if you have any allergies or sensitivities to common lip balm ingredients or scents.
- As an attendee, you are free to opt-in and opt-out of activities as suit your needs throughout the event, including exiting and re-entering the event space.
