The purpose of this project is to identify and gather information about individuals running social enterprises in British Columbia including who these individuals are connected to across space and how these connections allow them to secure resources, information and finance. The project aims to document these connections, store them in a database and then analyze them using network analysis and cartographic software. This has been achieved to data. The final goal, however, is to set up year-long partnerships with nine social enterprises in areas of high deprivation and who have the lowest number of connections. using the Hootesuite platform, so that we can launch online social network campaigns whilst monitoring and storing the data in real-time.
Impact Goal 1: Increased Online Social Networks for Social Enterprises in Areas of High Material Deprivation
Our 'front-line' objective is to increase access to information, resources, and sources of finance for social enterprises serving areas of high material deprivation through the use of online social networks. We will contact heads of social enterprises in areas of high material deprivation and ask them to participate in a year-long joint initiative. Both the team and the head will sign up for a joint Hootsuite account, a social media tracking platform that delivers enhanced analytics reports. The reports will enable us to track the performance of a social media campaign that we will help to launch and the online social networks held by the heads of social enterprises and to offer advice and support over the year. The information and insights we gather can then be fed back into the sector through a report.
Impact Goal 2: App-Integration for Social Enterprises in Areas of High Material Deprivation
As part of our front-lone objective we want to broaden the reach of social enterprises in areas of hight material deprivation. When we team up with the head of a social enterprise we will launch an 'app campaign.' This means that we will seek to increase the presence of the social enterprise on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. We will be able to jointly monitor the impact of these campaigns on Hootsuite which has a built-in 'app-integrations' package. Again, the information and insights we gather can then be fed back into the sector through a report.
