Our beloved Learning Garden has moved!
With the impending construction of the Student Union Building where our garden was located (next to the Maggie Benston Centre), we were required to work with SFU to identify a new home for our garden and make the move. Well, over the past few weeks we did exactly that and are proud to announce our new home on the south-side of the TASC1 building!
This new space is exciting! We used mulch to go with a "friendly" community feeling (rather than gravel), we have the benefit of a pathway bisecting the garden, we incorporated a social space into the design, and are conveniently situated next to some departments we have a thing or two in common with (looking at you, Resource & Environmental Management as well as Earth Sciences!).
But now it is time to have people - and not just boxes - occupy the space. We will begin plot assignments within the next couple of weeks. If you are a returning gardener, we will be in touch with you about renewals. If you have not rented a plot before but would like to get involved, head over to our garden's page and apply! Although we can't guarantee you a plot (since it depends on the number of applicants and the number of vacant plots), we will do our best to get you one.
