Let your voice be heard as we advocate for a world where our institutions reflect our values. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Land Acknowledgement\nThis event takes place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish)\, səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh)\, and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations.\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				ABOUT THE FACILITATORS \nParsa Alirezaei (he/him)Parsa Alirezaei is a former intern at the International Court of Justice. He’s currently working at the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies as a research assistant\, Law for Palestine as a researcher\, and Spheres of Influence as a managing editor. He’s also a junior researcher of national self-determination movements in modern MENA/SWANA. \nAlly Soriano (she/her)Ally is a first-generation Filipina settler\, born and residing on unceded Coast Salish territories. She is a climate organizer and serves as the communications coordinator for SFU350. Currently studying in Communications and Indigenous Studies at SFU\, Ally is passionate about the role of communications in student-led movements and is committed to raising awareness and building resistance against the ways genocide fuels climate change. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Event Accessibility\nEmbark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark Sustainability members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students\, as well as Embark Sustainability Associate Members. \nThis event will be held indoors at the Embark Studio\, room #1310 of the Student Union Building (SUB)\, SFU Burnaby. The Embark Studio is: \n\nWheelchair accessible\nLocated near wheelchair accessible and gender-neutral restrooms\nWelcomes all gender identities and expressions\nA tree nut and peanut-free zone\nA scent-free zone\nProvides access to a quiet space for personal meditation\, reflection\, or prayers\n\nOther accessibility details include: \n\nAs we’ll be addressing sensitive topics\, it’s important that our attendees are able to address their needs in the moment. Attendees are free to opt in and opt out of activities as suits their needs throughout the event\, including exiting and re-entering the event space.\nUnfortunately\, we cannot provide ASL interpretation at this time.\n\nWe aim to make our events accessible to as many of our community members as possible.
