SUMMARY:Sustainability Career Night: Nurturing Policy for Systems Change
DESCRIPTION:Join Embark Sustainability in collaboration with CityStudio Vancouver\, the Kwantlen Student Association and the UBC Climate Hub this March for a sustainability-themed career night! This event will showcase the stories of outstanding professionals who are using their careers in policymaking to nurture systems change. We’ll look at how their different career paths all relate to public policy\, and how they are advancing sustainability\, equity\, and well-being in our communities. The goal of this night is to give you a taste of the career opportunities that exist in the policy realm\, and how these opportunities can be leveraged to create more sustainable and equitable communities. \nThis event will consist of short presentations by three sustainability leaders who work in the public policy realm. Each speaker will discuss their journey to reach their current role\, along with barriers they overcame along the way. They will speak about how their work serves to nurture systems change towards equity\, sustainability\, and well-being for all. Speakers will also provide recommendations for participants who are looking to start their careers in sustainability. After the presentations\, each speaker will be in a Q&A breakout room where participants will have the opportunity to engage with them and ask questions. Students will have the opportunity to visit one facilitated breakout room during the evening. Finally\, the speakers will engage in a panel discussion to finish up the evening. \nRSVP required! \n \n SECURE YOUR SPOT
