Their artistic practice is informed by movements for queer ecology\, ecofeminism\, international solidarities\, and community archival practices. \n \n \n \nNaomi appreciates how photography\, art\, and archival practices drive them to critically (re)imagine how livable and liberated histories\, realities\, and futures can feel\, look\, and sound like. Naomi is a senior researcher in the psychology of climate justice lab at UBC and a MSc candidate for Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences. They have a background in climate justice education programming and policy change with UBC Sustainability\, The Climate Justice Organizing HUB\, Sustainabiliteens\, Climate Education Reform BC\, Asha Collective\, and Be the Change Earth Alliance. \nAs a queer and genderqueer racialized artist and organizer\, they intimately know the gap in funding and mobilization of mental health support for their own communities’ well-being. Naomi desires to create anti-colonial spaces centering trans and queer communities to process intergenerational trauma\, grief\, and to co-create possibilities and programming for hope and healing. \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Event Accessibility\nEmbark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students\, as well as Embark Associate Members. \nThis event will be held indoors at the Embark Studio\, room #1310 of the SUB Student Union Building (SUB)\, SFU Burnaby.
