SUMMARY:Autumn Equinox: Rhythms of the Garden
DESCRIPTION:The sun is the main source of energy and heat for life on earth. Join us to reconnect with nature through your senses\, celebrate the bountiful harvest we enjoy during the autumn equinox\, and learn how to garden successfully within the cycles of the sun and other elements. \nLAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT\nThis event will take place on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish)\, səlil̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh)\, and kʷikʷəƛw̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nations. \nACCESSIBILITY\nEmbark Sustainability events are free and open to Embark members which includes Simon Fraser University undergraduate and graduate students\, as well as Embark Associate Members. \nThis event will be held outdoors in Embark Sustainability’s Burnaby Learning Garden\, located on the south side of TASC1. \nAccessibility details include: \n\nDue to terrain\, this space is not always accessible using a wheelchair or mobility aids. Please contact programs@embarksustainability.org for more details.\nWe aim to host a scent-free space. Please refrain from wearing scented products in attendance of this event.\nUnfortunately\, we cannot provide ASL interpretation at this time. However\, we can provide written instructions and a copy of the facilitator’s script.\nSome light physical activity will take place at this event (gardening).\nAttendees are free to opt in and opt out of activities as suits their needs throughout the event\, including exiting and re-entering the event space.\n\nWe aim to make our events accessible to as many of our community members as possible.
